He gained fame with the poem La Calédonie ou la guerre nationale ( 1823 ), which was followed by historical works: Histoire du siège de Misselonghi ( 1827 ) and La révolution de 1830 et le véritable parti républicain ( 1833 ). His "Oeuvres" were published in 1844–45 together with the collected works of his brother Marie-Victorinne Fabre . Attached to this publication is a biography of F. compiled by Sabatier.
