Occupation,

Saint Fabiola built the first hospital in the West and gathered different crippled, sick and hungry people from the streets. Blessed Jerome describes how she herself brought the sick, looked after her paralyzed and lepers patients and prepared food for these “living corpses” with her own hands. Fabiola was generous to hermits, virgins, and monasteries. Together with Pammachy, Fabiola took part in the creation of the first Western house in the West, the remains of which were discovered during excavations under the church of San Giovanni e Paolo in Rome , and the construction of a hospital in Ostia , which became famous around the world. In 395, Fabiola accompanied her relative Ozian during his journey to Jerome in Bethlehem . Her curiosity is caused by the letters of Jerome about the clothes of the high priest and about the camps in the desert. Fabiola died in Rome in 399.
