Shershnevo - a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in Safonovsky district . Population - 5 inhabitants ( 2007 ) [1] . Located in the central part of the region, 25 km east of the city of Safonov , 7 km south of the Belarus highway M1 , on the bank of the Dyma river. 2.5 kilometers north of the village is Izdeshkovo railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line . Included in the Ignatkovsky rural settlement.

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by the Nazi troops in September 1941 , liberated in 1943 . [2]
