History

Club Creation

In 1987, at the railway workshop of OJSC Poltava Mining and Processing Plant , the Lokomotiv football team was created, playing in the second group of the regional championship. In 1990, the football club was reorganized, on the basis of the previous team, two were created at once - the Miner and the Lokomotiv, which were headed by Igor Litvinenko and Vasily Utkin, respectively. The very next year, railroad workers started in the championship of the Ukrainian SSR among the KFK, and the Miner began to play in the championship of the Poltava region. But for a small town, the functioning of two clubs at once was not very expedient and it was soon decided to join forces to create a single team capable of performing at a professional level. Before the start of the second round of the amateur championship of Ukraine 1992/93, the clubs united under the general name - “Miner”. The first team continued to play in the amateur championship of the country, and Gornyak-2 took part in the regional championship.

Second League appearances (1995–2014)

In early 1995, FC Gornyak underwent major changes. The chairman of the club was Peter Kaplun, and the former head of the team Anatoly Dumansky became the head coach. In the 1995/96 season, the team, which by that time had received the prefix “sport” in the name, started at a professional level, taking part in the championship of the second league of Ukraine. The first match of the team among professional clubs took place on August 6, 1995, in which the Pitmen lost 1: 3 to the Druzhba team (Berdyansk) . Debut, for the club from Komsomolsk goal in the second league, scored by Viktor Usov. The Pitman won his first victory in the tournament only in the 11th round, having beaten Portovik from Chernomorsk on his field, followed by two more wins with a score 1: 0 over Dniester and FC Viktor . In the end, the team finished the debut season in 16th place among 21 teams, retaining a place among professional clubs.

In the next championship , Gornyak-Sport finished in 14th place. In the same season, the Pitmen made their debut in the Cup of Ukraine , where in the 1/64 final match, held on August 14, 1996, they lost 0-1 to the Shakhtar-2 team. A year later, in the first round of the 1997/98 cup tournament , Komsomol members met with Borysfen, who defeated in a penalty shoot-out. Having reached the 1/64 finals, Gornyak-Sport, in the sum of two matches, Novomoskovsk Metallurg could not pass, losing 0-1 to their opponent in their field and tied 1-1 away. In this match, Pitmen’s defender Vladimir Khan scored the first cup goal in the history of his team.

In the seasons 1997/98 and 1998/99, the wards of Anatoly Dumansky twice in a row occupied the 4th line in the standings of group “B”, this result remained the best in the history of the club for many years. From the second round of the 2000/01 season , Dumansky was replaced on the coaching bridge by Valery Povstenko, who left his post a year later. Yury Chumak, who headed the Miner-Sport, worked with the team for three and a half years, but he also could not achieve much success. In the future, mentors changed, but the team was consistently among the middle peasants of the second league. And the club’s management did not set special tasks for the team. The priority was the education of young players and the gradual development of infrastructure. Over time, the club acquired a training base, a new stadium was built, a vertical for training young football players was built and adjusted [1] .

At the beginning of 2009, Yuri Malygin was invited to the position of head coach, who put the team in an aggressive, acutely attacking game, but at the same time it was not always possible to maintain reliability in the defensive order. The miners finished the season in 13th place. The Miner-Sport finished the autumn part of the championship by 8 positions. The intermediate result, the management was regarded as unsuccessful and the team was already preparing for the second round, having returned to the coaching bridge, Sergey Muradyan , who had previously worked as the club’s sports director [2] . Under his leadership, the team finished the championship in 11th place, and in the next two seasons finished ninth.

In the winter of 2013, Igor Zhabchenko becomes the head coach. With his arrival, a new stage in the history of the team began. In a short time, the new mentor managed to create a good, combat-ready team. The Miner-Sport Championship finished in 3rd place in its subgroup. The 2013/14 season , which was already the nineteenth in the second league for the team, began with a victory over Real Pharma , but then two defeats followed with the same score 1: 2, from Gornostaevsky Mir and Cherkasy Slavutich . The subsequent fights the club from Komsomolsk held without recessions, demonstrating a stable game, completing the first round in 2nd place. The spring part of the championship, the wards of Zhabchenko spent even more confidently, three rounds before the end of the tournament, ahead of schedule having won a ticket to the first league and eventually becoming the winners of the championship [3] .

League One 2014 - p.t.

The Miner-Sport played its debut match in the first league on June 26, 2014, winning 1-0 in the away match against Poltava , and the first goal for the club in the second Ukrainian division was recorded by Alexander Andrievsky . In general, the first part of the season, the newcomers to the tournament, spent quite successfully, having left for the winter break being in 3rd place in the standings [4] . In 2017, the club changed its emblem, as the old one not only looked outdated, but also bore the old name of the city - Komsomolsk. The author of the new logo of the Horishneplavnensky club was the famous Ukrainian designer Dmitry Shtrays.
