Konnikov, Samuil Girshevich

Samuil Girshevich (Grigorievich) Konnikov (b. July 6, 1938 , Leningrad ) - Russian physicist , general director of the Center for Collective Use “Materials Science and Diagnostics in Advanced Technologies”, member of the expert council of the Nanoindustry Concern. Doctor of physico-mathematical sciences , professor , corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) , full member of the Russian Academy of Engineering Sciences, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences .

Laureate of the USSR State Prize .

The scientific activity of S. G. Konnikov is associated with the development of new diagnostic methods and their application in materials science and technology, namely:

• the creation of new and improvement of existing diagnostic methods based on the registration of signals arising from the interaction of electron , photon , X-ray , ion and other beams, as well as thin metal nanoprobe with a solid body;
• using the developed set of practical diagnostic methods for the study of materials, structures and devices of micro- , nano- and optoelectronics .

His business and research interests also include teaching and innovation.

Head of the Laboratory of the A. F. Ioffe Institute of Physics and Technology (RAS) , Deputy Head of the Department of Solid State Physics, Faculty of Physics and Technology, St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University (SPbSPU), Deputy Chairman of the Specialized Dissertation Council Joffe. He is the scientific secretary of the Electronics section of the Scientific and Technical Council under the Governor of St. Petersburg, an expert in the Scientific Instrument Making program of the Ministry of Industry, Science and Technology of the Russian Federation .

Member of the editorial boards of the journals " Physics and Technology of Semiconductors ", "Instruments and Experimental Techniques".

Married, has three children.
