History of creation and operation
The construction of the station was started in 1927 according to the plan of electrification of the Kuban . Four direct-flow steam boilers designed by L.K. Ramzin and two turbine units were installed at the station. In 1930, the power plant was commissioned, having at that time a capacity of 22 MW. In 1951, a fifth boiler and a third turbo-generator with a capacity of 10 MW were mounted and commissioned at the power plants. In 1955, the station was completely converted to gas heating. The work of all three turbogenerators continued until 1982 , when the first two turbine units were decommissioned, the third was stopped only in 1986 .
Historical Role
In the 1930s , NovorES provided electricity to Novorossiysk with the suburbs and Krymsk , thereby providing the opportunity for the industrialization of Novorossiysk. In the 1970s, it played an important role as a backup source of energy supply during high-voltage power line breaks due to severe weather conditions.
Nowadays
July 18, 1987 NOVORES stopped giving current. However, from 1986 until the beginning of the 2000s, NovoroES was used as a boiler room, heating nearby enterprises and residential buildings. Currently, the NOVORES counter building is used as the administrative building of the South-Western Electric Networks branch of PJSC Kubanenergo, and the 6kV distribution installation is located in the station building.
