Goryainovo is a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in the Safonovsky district . The population is 5 inhabitants ( 2007 ) [1] . It is located in the central part of the region, 16 km northeast of the city of Safonov , 1.5 km north of the M1 Belarus highway, on the banks of the Utka River. At 5.5 km southwest of the village the railway station O.p. 300th km on the line Moscow - Minsk . It is part of the Prudkovsky rural settlement.

History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in September 1941 , liberated in 1943 . [2]
