Armin Zoggeler won the 5th medal at the 5th consecutive Olympics

The men's luge competition at the 2010 Winter Olympics was held on February 13 and 14 . Each country was represented by no more than 3 athletes (Canada, the USA, Germany, Austria, Latvia, Russia and Italy completely chose their quota).

All competitions were held in the Whistler San Center . On the first day, the first two arrivals were held from 17:00 to 21:00 local time ( UTC-8 ), and the next two more from 13:00 to 17:00.

At the beginning of February 2010, two-time Olympic champion Armin Tsoggeler announced that he considers the Russian Albert Demchenko [1] to be the main favorite of the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin.

Felix Loch became the second sleigh rider in history, who won all 4 races, before him it was only possible to the German Georg Hakl in 1998 in Nagano . In women, a similar thing happened in 1980 at Lake Placid, Vera Zozula . Moreover, Loch in each of the races won by the second time more than 1 tenth of a second, and his final advantage over David Möller in 0.679 seconds became the second in history after the advantage of Paul Hildgartner over Sergey Danilin in 1984 in Sarajevo - 0.704 seconds.

Armin Zoggeler won his fifth medal at the fifth consecutive Olympiad in this kind of program, repeating the achievement of George Hackle, who won 3 gold and 2 silver over the period 1988-2002. On the account of Zoggeler in 1994-2010, 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze.
