Robert Blum ( German: Robert Blum ; November 10, 1807 , Cologne - November 9, 1848 , Brigittenau ) - German politician during the March Revolution of 1848 . He worked as a craftsman and later as a theater secretary.

Biography
Since 1831 he was engaged in literary activity. In Saxony published political collections, brochures.
Until 1847 he worked in the political magazine Sächsische Vaterlands-Blätter (Saxon Domestic Leaflets).
During the revolution of 1848-1849 in Leipzig he founded the democratic Patriotic Association, which numbered more than 40 thousand supporters [3] .
Blum was a deputy of the first democratically elected all-German parliament, the leader of the left democrats of the Frankfurt National Assembly . He advocated a German nation-state with a republican constitution, gender equality, against Prussian militarism and anti-Semitism.
In the second phase of the revolution, he took part in the defense of Vienna and, despite his diplomatic immunity, was shot after the suppression of the uprising.
He was buried at the Veringa Jewish cemetery .
