Research Areas
The main directions of political science of religion, which are in constant development, are:
- Everything that is within the framework of religious doctrine and religious practice has directly political content and order. For example: a religious understanding of power, power, political authority, state, political organization, war, peace, etc.
- All that within the framework of religious behavior and religious practice does not have a direct political content and order, but has immediate political consequences. For example: construction of religious facilities, pilgrimages .
- The position of the subject of politics in a narrower sense in relation to religion and religious associations. For example: the positions of political parties and groups aimed at exerting pressure on religion and religious associations.
- All that within the framework of a seemingly completely friendly behavior that does not have a religious motive causes religious consequences. For example, if in any religious community, adherents of one religion receive a monopoly on some kind of economic industry, which causes political consequences.
Thus, the political science of religion can be defined as one of the latest political science disciplines, which studies the influence of religion on politics and politics on religion. Particular attention is paid to the relations of the subject of politics in the narrow sense of the word with faith and religious communities.
