History
From 1783 to 1830 there was a national Lutheran church of the Principality of Lithuania. In 1919, Lutheran parishes of Lithuania were united under the rule of the national consistory. However, until 1925, the language of her correspondence was German. In 1926, an evangelical theological faculty was opened in Kaunas . At the end of World War II, there were 25 thousand Lutherans in Lithuania.
