History

The first mention dates back to 1899. The first inhabitants were immigrants from the Orenburg province . The village began to be built with the construction of a wooden temple. The village itself was located upstream of the river. In 1901, a wooden church burned down, and in its place was built a stone church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. There was no information about the first rector of the church, but it is in his records that the first mention appears about the beginning of the construction of the village. From there it is clear that there was a wasteland between the temple and the village itself. The first street had 30 houses and stretched along the river for 850 meters. The second went from the river towards the temple, not reaching it about 100 meters.

Around the village was an endless steppe, a “clear field”, hence, apparently, the name. A little upstream was the Kazakh aul Taisar. The village was completely destroyed in 1919 by Kolchak . Also, passing here, he began to rob a young village, including his temple. But by that time, the local population had already managed to hide all the values in the temple. Behind the temple, approximately 100-150 meters away, there was an Orthodox cemetery. Now on this place is an obelisk to a victorious soldier.

The village began to develop in the 30-40 years of the XX century. This was due to the wave of resettlement of people in the steppes of Kazakhstan. By the beginning of the 1950s, it was already a rather large settlement with a population of almost 10,000 people. Field cultivation was the main occupation of the population, and cattle were also bred. In 1954, uranium deposits were found near the village, but they did not immediately develop them. And only in the 1960s they began to build a mine for uranium mining. It did not exist for long, in the 1990s it was mothballed and then destroyed. In addition to the mine, at the same time, many enterprises began to destroy it, which led to unemployment and the outflow of the population. As a result, at the beginning of 2000, a little more than 3,000 people remained in the village.

From 1955 to 1997, the village was the administrative center of the Chistopol district of the Kokchetav region .

Population

In 1999, the population of the village was 3333 people (1615 men and 1718 women) [2] . According to the 2009 census , 2460 people lived in the village (1181 men and 1279 women) [2] .
