Solomon Naumovich Vaysblat ( January 14, 1888 , Malin , now the city of Zhytomyr Region - June 10, 1965 , Kiev ) - Ukrainian medical scientist in the field of dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Science of the Ukrainian SSR (1947).

Biographical information
Born in a large family of the Kiev Chief Rabbi Nukhim Yankelevich Vaysblat (1864-1925). The brother of art critic and translator Vladimir Weissblat and artist Joseph Weissblat , the nephew of the chief rabbi Zhytomyr (1922-1930) Morduha-Bera (Mordhe) Yankelevich Vaysblat (1872-1930).
In 1922 he graduated from the Kiev Medical Institute .
Since 1927 - Head of the first maxillofacial department in Ukraine (Kiev).
1929-1932 - Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Kiev Institute for Advanced Medical Studies.
1932-1953 - Head of the Department of Surgical Dentistry, Kiev Dental Institute. At the same time in 1938-1941 - Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Deputy Director for Research.
1938-1953 - chief dentist of the Ministry of Health of the Ukrainian SSR.
He was buried in Kiev at the Baykovsky cemetery .
Scientific Achievements
For the first time in the USSR, he developed rational methods of pain relief in dentistry and studied the problems of treating oral sepsis .
Scientific works are devoted to the issues of odontogenic osteomyelitis , maxillofacial injuries and dental oncology .
Daughter - immunologist, doctor of medical sciences Lyubov Solomonovna Kogosova .
