The administrative center is the village of Agapovka .
Geography
The district is located in the south-west of the Chelyabinsk region , in the vicinity of Magnitogorsk . In the north, the district borders with the Verkhneuralsk district, in the northeast and east - with the Nagaybak and Kartaly districts, in the south - with the Kizil district, in the west - with the Magnitogorsk city district and the Abzelil district of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The area is 2 603.6 km², agricultural land is 232.4 thousand ha.
The area is located mainly in the steppe, partly in the forest-steppe zones. Relief: hilly plain. The Ural, Gumbeyka, Zingeyka, Sukhaya, Rzhavchik, Yangelka rivers flow through the territory of the district. Two large reservoirs Verkhneuralskoe and Magnitogorsk are located.
The distance from Chelyabinsk is 280 km and 20 km from the railway station Magnitogorsk.
Climate
The area is located in the steppe, partially in the forest-steppe zones. The average annual rainfall is not more than 350 mm. The average January temperatures are 17 ° C (abs. Minimum - 46 ° C), July 19 ° C (abs. Maximum 39 ° C). The prevailing wind directions in January are southerly, in July - northwest. Vegetation cover: turf - grass steppes, in the northern part meadow steppes. The fauna is typical representatives of the steppe and forest-steppe fauna.

Economics
Minerals
The territory of the Agapovsky region has significant reserves of natural resources.
So on the territory of the Magnetic settlement explored reserves of non-metallic materials - vermoculite, red clay, sand, crushed stone. The bowels of this settlement are rich in minerals - gold, nickel, cobalt, iron ore.
On the territory of the Chernihiv settlement explored reserves of non-metallic materials - red clay, sand, gravel. In addition, the territory is characterized by the presence of table water and medicinal water, which is indicated in the treatment of diseases of the digestive system, endocrine and genitourinary systems.
On the territory of the Zheltinsky settlement, a granite deposit is being developed.
Granodiorites are being mined in the Burano settlement
The territories of Primorsky, Yangelsky, Burannoy settlements are rich in non-metallic minerals: refractory clay, crushed stone.
Agriculture
In the Agapovsky district, the total area of agricultural land is 220.6 thousand hectares (94%) of the total land area in the district, including:
the area of arable land is 147.8 thousand ha., of which 140.9 thousand ha are arable land. Not used 7 thousand ha. The sown area was 123.1 thousand hectares, 17.8 thousand hectares were allocated for pairs. or 15.7%.
The average annual number of workers employed in agricultural production is 546 people, including in agricultural enterprises and K (F) X with the formation of jur. persons - 452 people of them: permanent workers - 336 people, tractor drivers - 79, machine milking (milkmaids) operators - 35 people, cattle - 24 people, temporary seasonal - 28 people, 85 employees, including managers - 26 people, specialists - 54 individual entrepreneurs employ 94 people, including members of K (F) X -47 people. Wage workers -47 people. The average annual salary is 16 976 rubles.
Agricultural activities in the area are 88 households, including:

- peasant farms - 22;
- individual entrepreneurs - 48.

Grains in weight after refinement of 122, 7 thousand tons with an average yield of 14.6 kg / ha, which is 98.3% compared to last year.
Sunflower for grain is 3,395 tons with an average yield of 6.1 c / ha or 119.5% compared to last year.
Oil flax 2,367 tons with an average yield of 8.8 kg / ha or 353% compared to last year (due to a 2-fold increase in sown area)
Potatoes 3,662 tons with an average yield of 79.6 kg / ha or 66% compared to last year (as a result of a decrease of 122 hectares of sown area and yield from 96.2 c / ha to 79.6 kg / ha)
Vegetables 4,449 tons with an average yield of 204 kg / ha - 109.4% compared to last year.

Health
Medical assistance to the population of the Agapovsky municipal district is provided by the Agapov Central Regional Hospital, which includes: a polyclinic, a day hospital, a therapeutic department, 6 general practitioner offices, 2 medical outpatient clinics, and 30 FAPs.
In 2016, 31 doctors worked in the district. There are 148 secondary medical workers, of which 18 are with the highest category, 14 are with the first category, and 3 are with the second category.
Education
The network of educational institutions of the Agapovsky municipal district consists of 47 institutions:
- 20 general education institutions, including 13 secondary schools, 3 primary and 4 primary. They have 11 structural divisions (at the end of 2015 there were 21 schools);
- 23 preschool educational institutions (at the end of 2015 there were 31 kindergartens);
- 3 institutions of continuing education for children;
- 1 interschool methodological center.
