History
The village was founded in 1847 . Before the revolution, it was the settlement of Fedorovka as part of the Taganrog district of the Don Army Region .
A wooden church was built in the settlement in the honor of the Ascension of the Lord, which lasted 36 years, starting in 1857. In 1893, it was replaced, due to dilapidation, with a new stone temple, which had the same name. [2] According to the newspaper “Don Diocesan Vedomosti” for 1897 (No. 12), the church was fully operational, and by 1900 the number of parishioners of this church was 3384 people of both sexes. There were also male and female parish schools in the settlement .
It is known that the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located in the village of Grigoryevka, now in the Matveyevo-Kurgan region, built in 1906 with donations from the inhabitants of the village, according to Vedomosti about the church in 1912 was listed as an ascribed church to the Ascension Church of the settlement of Fedorovka in the Taganrog District of the Don Diocese. [3]
Before the October Revolution, about 4,200 people were constantly living in the settlement, there were large brick factories, a steam mill, oil mills, a church, and parish schools. The buildings of the settlement looked more like “small-town than the suburban ”.
In 1924, the village became the center of the district of the same name as part of the Taganrog district of the North Caucasus region . At that time, 2908 people lived in the village, there were 530 yards, 5 small industrial enterprises, 3 mills, an oil mill, a pond and 328 wells; there were 2 schools of the 1st stage and 3 party organizations.
By July 1, 1950, the village was listed as the center of the village council and the district at the same time as part of the Rostov region . In November 1953, the Fedorovsky district was abolished, and the village itself was annexed by the rights of the village center to the Taganrog district.
In April 1962, the village was incorporated into the Neklinovsky District .
