History
In the Samhan era, tribal unions called Kammunguk and Chudzhomaguk were located on the territory of modern Gimcheon, which during the time of the Three States were united by the state of Silla into a single administrative unit of Kammunju, which during the Common Silla was upgraded to a county and became known as Keryungun (Kereung county) . Gradually expanding and absorbing neighboring settlements, Karen lasted until 1914, when he was connected to the surrounding territories, forming Gimcheongun (Gimcheon County). In 1949, Gimcheon received the status of a city (si). Since then, the city underwent minor administrative reforms and changed its borders several times (the last change occurred in 2000 ). [one]
