The All-Russian Society of the Deaf (VOG) is an all-Russian public organization of disabled people with complete or significant hearing loss .

The All-Russian Society of the Deaf (VOG), an all-Russian public organization of persons with disabilities, was established in the RSFSR ( USSR ) in 1926 . The main task of the FOG is to protect the legal rights and interests of citizens of the Russian Federation with hearing impairment , their social rehabilitation and integration into modern society , and ensuring equal opportunities with other citizens .

VOG is a member of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFG). The FOG President is a member of the WUF Council, the Director of the WFG Regional Secretariat for Eastern Europe and Central Asia .

Structure of the All-Russian Society of the Deaf

VOG has about 100,000 people in its ranks, of which 95% are hearing impaired .

The All-Russian Society of the Deaf, All-Russian Public Organization of Disabled Persons includes 76 regional branches and 878 local branches that serve about 230,000 people who are deaf. Primary cells of the organization are in all regions of the Russian Federation .

The structure of the All-Russian Society of the Deaf includes 35 social rehabilitation enterprises that solve the problems of vocational training and employment of people with disabilities, finance the statutory activities of VOG institutions and organizations. The Society’s system also includes 52 regional and 182 local social and cultural institutions, as well as the Mimic and Gesture Theater , the Mayak sanatorium and resort institution in Sochi , and other recreation and tourism facilities throughout the country.

The main governing body of the All-Russian Society of the Deaf is the VOG Congress.

VOG Media

Under the patronage of the FOG, the magazine “In a Single Order” is published, the newspapers “The World of the Deaf” ( Moscow ) and “Volna” ( St. Petersburg ) are published with a total circulation of 55,000 copies . Also at FOG published literature related to the problems of deafness and acquainting its readers with the works of people with hearing disabilities.

Note

The All-Russian Society of the Deaf provides assistance and assistance to people with hearing impairments, regardless of their membership in the FOG.

Since 2007, USI VOG has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council ( ECOSOC )
