Paula Stradins University Clinical Hospital ( Latvian: Paula Stradiņa klīniskā universitātes slimnīca ) is the largest outpatient and inpatient medical institution in Riga . The hospital is also a medical scientific and educational center [1] .

History
Installed in the hospital in 1963 .
This largest hospital in Latvia changed its name eight times: since its opening in 1910, it was the Riga City Hospital, in the pre-war Soviet period in 1940-1941 - the National Clinical Hospital, then during the German occupation during World War II - again the Riga City Hospital hospital, from 1944 to 1948 again the National Clinical Hospital, then the Republican Clinical Hospital, from 1958 - the Republican Clinical Hospital named after Paul Stradin, from 1993 - the National Hospital named after Paul Strad nya, 1995 - Hospital Pauls Stradins Latvian Academy of Medicine. Later received the name - Pauls Stradins University Clinical Hospital. However, since 1958, residents of Riga in everyday life have called the hospital the same word - Stradins.
Incidents
- On August 2, 2013, an explosion occurred at the hospital's oxygen station in building 32, resulting in a fire. In the incident, two people were injured (hospital technical workers), more than 170 people were evacuated. The call arrived at 9.30 in the morning. An hour later, the fire was localized [2] .
