Content
Story
Having fallen in love with each other at school, Stepan and Natalya got married - and now in a happy and prosperous family is growing up a little son, Vaska. Once Stepan witnesses an attempt to steal a valuable historical monument - the “ stone woman ”. Among the kidnappers is a girl who is trying to stop them. Having besieged the guys, Stepan frees her. And since then, unexpected love has become torture for him, for Natalia’s wife, and for Vaska’s son, who is trying to protect his mother from misfortune.
The film begins and ends with scenes at the ferry crossing. At the beginning of the film, Stepan hurries to the hospital to quickly see his newborn son. But the ferry is on the opposite side of the river. Then Stepan rushes into the stormy mountain river and crosses it. At the end of the film, Stepan leaves his wife and son. He crosses the river on the same ferry. And now his twelve-year-old son, trying to stop his father, rushes into the river and tries to cross it ...

Interesting Facts
The film was shot on the territory of Maiminsky and Chemalsky (at that time - Shebalinsky ) regions of the Altai Republic (at that time - the Gorno-Altai Autonomous Region).
At the end of the film, it is clearly visible that Vaska is running through the village of Chemal and soon resorting to a ferry in the village of Rybalka . Meanwhile, the distance between Chemal and Fishing is 80 kilometers.
The “ stone woman ” shown in the film is completely atypical for the Altai Mountains.
