The central district is one of the districts of Krasnoyarsk . It is located in the central part of the city, on its territory are the historical center of Krasnoyarsk, regional and city administrations.

Historical background
The central district in its original form was created on October 5, 1937 , when a resolution was issued by the Krasnoyarsk regional executive committee and the bureau of the regional committee of the CPSU, which formed the Stalin district. This decision was approved by the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee on June 25, 1938 . By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR of November 5, 1961, the district was renamed from Stalin to Central.
Geography
The district is located on the left bank of the Yenisei River and borders on the Soviet and Railway districts. From the territory of the district, at the confluence of the Kachi River in the Yenisei, the development of the city began. Initially, the area occupied a wider territory, including the completely current Soviet district, allocated in 1969 . In 1977, the Zheleznodorozhny District was allocated from the Central District.
