Hal dhruv

Dhruv (ALH Dhruv, Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv, Sanskrit : ध्रुव) is a multi-purpose military helicopter developed by the Indian national company HAL ( English Hindustan Aeronautics Limited ), with the support of the German concern Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm .

The development of the helicopter began in 1984 , the first flight - in 1992 , and went into mass production in 2003 .

Available in two versions: for the air force and ground forces - with a skid gear; for the Navy with a three-leg retractable landing gear.

The Rudra, a strike modification of the helicopter, is equipped with an automatic 20 mm gun mounted on a turret and guided by missile weapons, for example, ATGMs . Suspension of depth charges and torpedoes is also possible.

The HAL export order portfolio for 2012-2015 is 10 Dhruv worth $ 76.5 million. [3]

  • Mk.1 - basic modification with Turbomeca TM 333-2B2 engines; total built 56 units for the Indian Armed Forces
