History

Zavolzhye. 1910

In 1375, Yaroslavl Prince Vasily Vasilyevich, together with the Grand Duke of Moscow Dmitry Ivanovich (Donskoy), participated in a campaign against Prince of Tver Mikhail Alexandrovich , who sought the throne of the Grand Prince. Vasiliy captured many Tver soldiers, whom he settled beyond the Volga, establishing a settlement here, which became known as Tverichi . Its inhabitants were mainly engaged in fishing, supplying the catch to the city markets. In 1684 Tveritskaya settlement became a part of Yaroslavl. [2]

In 1923–1926, on the Lyapinsky peat bog, according to the GOELRO plan , the Yaroslavskaya GRES, now Lyapinskaya boiler house, was supplied with electricity and heat.

In 1938, Zavolzhsky district was formed by its separation from the Kirovsky district .
