Institute of Protein RAS

The Institute of Protein was founded on June 9, 1967 by academician Alexander Sergeyevich Spirin in accordance with the decision of the USSR Academy of Sciences to carry out fundamental work on the study of the structure and functions of the protein .

The institute is located in the city of Pushchino and functions as part of the Pushchino Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences .

The Institute employs about 70 scientists, and in total 200 people, including engineers, laboratory assistants, and technical and service personnel, are in full-time staff. In addition, more than 50 graduate students, undergraduates and students are studying at the Institute's Center for Molecular Biology .

• For the training of young specialists at the institute, a Training Center for Molecular Biology was created.

The Institute is managed by the Directorate, which consists of a director, two of his deputies for scientific work, a deputy for administrative part and a scientific secretary. In addition, the Institute has an Academic Council, which develops the main ways of further development of the Institute, discusses new plans and work projects and deals with everything related to scientific activity.
