Geographical position
The village of Gorneshno is located on the Valdai Hills , on the territory of the northern part of the Valdai National Park [3] , on the western shore of Lake Borovno, 4 km north-west of the village Mill , 17 km south of the town of Okulovka .
Nearest villages: 3 km south - Borovno ; 2 km to the north - Perevoz ; on the eastern shore of the lake Borovno - Kotchino . [four]

History
The village of Gorneshno is first mentioned in the scribal book of Derevskaya Pyatina in 1495 - the so-called letters from Prokofy Skuratov and Peter Wolf Borisov [8] .
The village of Gornyechna belonged to Vasyuk Pleshcheev, and in 1581 - “Gorniechno village on the lake in Borovna” was mentioned as Ilya Pleshcheyev [9] .
From the beginning of the 19th century until 1924, the village (manor, village) Gorneshno was located in the Borovensk volost, and in 1924–1927 in the Luchkinsk volost of the Valdai district of the Novgorod province . [ten]
The village of Gorneshno (Vasilyevskoe) is marked on maps 1788 [11] , 1812 [12] , 1816 [13] , 1826-1840 [14] .
In the first half of the XIX century [15] [16] in the village of Gorneshno, a manor was built. In the middle of the XIX century the Maid's estate belonged to landowner Longinov. After the death of Mr. Longvinov, the estate was given to his son-in-law E. N. Scherbakov. Then, until 1861, the landowner Klupfel owned the estate [9] . In 1879, in the village of Gorneshno there were 14 peasant households and 26 men and 28 women lived, and in the estate - 4 men and a woman [9] . At the beginning of the 20th century, Lieutenant Colonel L. N. Fufayevsky died - the next owner of the estate [16] , his widow, Alexandra Denisovna, sold the estate to the last owner, General Nikolai Petrovich Demidov, who settled on the amelioration of the surrounding fields, built a butter factory in the village and opened a shop. In 1909, 36 men and 50 women lived in the village of Gorneshno, and 7 men and 5 women in the estate. [9] .

During the period of collectivization , the villagers began working on the collective farm “Krasnoye Gorneshno” and at the “Gory” state farm , and in 1957 at the “Putilovets” state farm [9] .
In 1959, the Perevozsky Village Council was abolished, the village of Gorneshno became part of the Turbine Village Council, with the center in the village of Borovno .
In 1966–1979 Gorneshno was the center of the Gordneshnsky village council separated from Turbine, including the villages of Perevoz and Tuhili .
In 1979, the Gorneshnya Village Council was incorporated into the Turbine Village Council, with its center in the village of Mill . [ten]
