Story
Approximately three hundred years before the events of the game, a planet was found, which later turned out to be an artificial sphere, in which strange objects were found that were the product of a technology that had long since disappeared from the ancient space race.
A small sphere the size of a planetoid, called Sender, was discovered by chance by a spacecraft pilot. He also noticed long spikes on the surface of the planet, one of which emitted a signal. When approaching the planetoid, the ship was thrown out at another point in the galaxy. This Sender ability was later used to travel through space. Each Sender became the center of space trade. In the center of the famous universe find the largest Sender, Sender One, inside of which is Anachronox.
It is assumed that Anachronox was the home world for many millions of aliens. These aliens are believed to have died from the epidemic. Anachronox is now largely in ruins and has become the center of business relations in the galaxy.
Sly Booty lives in a cheap apartment above Roadie, a seedy bar on the meanest street in the South of Anachronox section, called Bricks. After being attacked by some mysterious personalities, Booty is recruited by a scientist and starts a risky game against the most dangerous creatures in the universe.
Gameplay
The game was created under the influence of games like Chrono Trigger , although character development and inventory were simplified compared to games of this kind, and the focus was shifted towards exploring the world and revealing the storyline [2] . The player acts as Sylvester "Sly Boots" Buchelli, a slum detective from the planet Anachronox. This world is located within the realm of Sender One, which is the center of a network of galactic lines of communication. Recruited against his will to explore the mystery associated with the very nature of the universe, Sly travels across the galaxy, encountering many characters along the way, some of whom may join the player's party.
Development
Development of the game took three and a half years, but the team finished only about half the game. The story was supposed to be completed in the sequel, tentatively called Anachronox Prime, but it never came out [3] .
Three unofficial patches were released - two by Joey Liav (one of the game programmers), which provide improvements such as a taxi between distant points, greater stability, and one amateur that eliminates most of the remaining errors.

“Anachronox: The Movie” is a masterpiece, one of the best machinima films to date, and probably the most accomplished. Damn, he managed to hold two overloaded jury members for two and a half hours before the Machinima Festival 2002 - what else can you say? ”
