The serial production of the MKMS submachine gun was launched in 1934 . Available in several versions (SIG MKPS, MKMS, MKPO, MKMO).
Until 1941, the total release of all four models amounted to about 1,200 units (mainly due to the high price). The purchasers of these samples were the Finnish army , some Swiss police units and the papal Swiss Guard of the Vatican .
