The Object 770 power plant was developed on the basis of the V-2 diesel engine under the direction of V. D. Chudakov .

Unlike the “Object 277”, this tank was created on the basis of new units and had a number of original design solutions. The thickness of the frontal armor of the hull is 120 mm, the turret is 290 mm.

The armament consisted of a 130-mm M-65 gun with a two-plane “Thunderstorm” stabilizer and a KPVT machine gun . Ammunition - 26 artillery rounds and 250 rounds. The engine is a 10-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engine DTN-10 (1000 hp) with water cooling. The crew consisted of 4 people. The tank was equipped with a system of protection against weapons of mass destruction, an automatic fire-fighting system, thermal smoke equipment, night instruments and a gyro-hull.

“Object 770” had good maneuverability and was easy to manage. According to experts of the training ground, where all three experimental heavy tanks were tested, the “Object 770” seemed to them the most promising. A prototype of this machine is stored in the Museum of armored weapons and equipment in Kubinka.
