Family
Born into a noble family. Father - retired major of the Black Sea Fleet Ivan Andreevich Borisov, mother - Praskovya Emelyanovna Dmitrieva. The younger brother of Borisov, Peter Ivanovich .
He received a home education from his father. He studied mathematics and artillery under the Decembrist A.K. Burstel . He was fond of natural science and philosophy, he studied the works of the philosophers Voltaire, Helvetius, Holbach and others.
Military Service
Together with his brother, he joined the junker in the 26th artillery brigade on June 10, 1816 . Since June 18, 1820 with the rank of ensign . July 6, 1820 transferred to the 8th artillery brigade. December 24, 1823 was dismissed from the service with the rank of second lieutenant for family reasons.
Together with his brother, he was consecrated to freemasonry by Jean Baptiste Viollet, the founder of the Euxinous Pontus lodge in Odessa and a member of the Odessa "Scottish" (higher degrees) lodge of the "Three Realms of Nature" (Friends of Nature).
Decembrist
In 1818, together with his brother , he founded the Society of First Accord, which was soon transformed into the Society of Friends of Nature. Together with his brother P.I. Borisov and Yu.K. Lyublinsky, the founder of the Society of the United Slavs ( 1823 ).
Arrested on January 14, 1826 . He was released after interrogation and a day of arrest. He was arrested in the village of Buimir of Lebedinsky Uyezd by order of February 9, 1826 . Delivered to Kursk . April 10, 1826 delivered to St. Petersburg to the main guardhouse. Imprisoned in the Peter and Paul Fortress on April 12, 1826 .
Hard labor
Convicted of I category on July 10, 1826 . Sentenced to eternal hard labor. On July 23, 1826, together with his brother, they were sent chained to Siberia . On August 22, 1826, the term of hard labor was reduced to 20 years.
Arrived in Irkutsk on August 29, 1826, from there they were sent to the Aleksandrovsky distillery. October 6, 1826 returned to Irkutsk. On October 8, the brothers were sent to the Blagodatsky mine. From Blagodatsky mine transferred to Chita prison. Arrived in Chita on September 29, 1827 . Transferred to the Petrovsky Plant in September 1830 . November 8, 1832 the term of hard labor was reduced to 15 years. December 14, 1835 the term of hard labor was reduced to 13 years.
Together at the Petrovsky Zavod, the brothers conducted regular meteorological observations, which subsequently made it possible to determine the average monthly temperatures for Siberia.

At the end of the penal servitude, by decree of July 10, 1839, the brothers were sent into exile in the village of Podlopatki of the Verkhneudinsky district of Irkutsk province (currently the village of Podlopatki, Mukhorshibir district of Buryatia). At penal servitude and settlement he conducted scientific natural history observations, collected a herbarium . Despite the mental illness, he helped his brother arrange the collections, was engaged in cartoning and bookbinding.
By decree of March 21, 1841, the brothers were transferred to the village of Malaya Razvodnaya. September 30, 1854 suddenly died brother Peter. Andrei Ivanovich committed suicide after the death of his brother.
He was buried in the village of Bolshaya Razvodnaya, the grave was not preserved.
