It stands on the right bank of the Plavitsa River; here an automobile bridge is thrown across it. On the opposite bank is the village of Slava .

There is a direct highway from Novocherkutin to the district center of the village of Dobrinka . In the south, the village of Arkhipovka adjoins Novocherkutin; today it is actually a single settlement.

History

Prince Yu.N. Golitsyn

In the 1770s , the owner of the neighboring villages of Pushkino and Sergeevka, Prince Nikolai Ivanovich Saltykov bought land here and settled on more than 80 peasant families from the village of Cherkutino, Vladimir province [2] . The new village became Novocherkutino. Under this name, it is mentioned in documents of 1782 .

On the eve of the abolition of serfdom, the owner of the village was Yuri Nikolayevich Golitsyn.

In the village was located the family estate "Saltyki". Interesting descriptions about the estate were left by the daughter of Yu. N. Golitsyna - Elena Yuryevna, in the marriage of Khvoshchinsky [3] . Golitsyn invited the artist Viale to the estate to write a picture of the choir [3] .

There was a postal station issuing all kinds of correspondence on a country road [4] .

In the village there was a volost government .

1890 - an almshouse was opened in the village [5] .
