Entrance to the zoo
San Diego Zoo is one of the largest and most progressive zoos in the world, located on an area of about 100 acres (40 ha), which contains more than 3,700 individuals of 650 species and subspecies of animals [1] . The main part of the zoo can be seen using a sightseeing bus or a suspended gondola. The zoo is interesting not only because of the large number of animals contained in it, but also because of its rich collection of plants: for example, more than 40 species of bamboo were grown there for feeding large pandas and 18 variations of eucalyptus for feeding marsupial koala bears.

- In the cartoon "Madagascar," the main animal characters, once on the island of the same name , decided that they were in the San Diego Zoo .
- A video was shot at this zoo, which later became the first uploaded video on YouTube .
