Reno Capuson ( French Renaud Capuçon ; born January 27, 1976 , Chambery ) is a French violinist. Cellist brother .

Biography

He graduated from the Paris Conservatory ( 1995 ), a student of Gerard Poulet . From a young age he played in the European Union Youth Orchestra under the direction of Claudio Abbado , then was the first violin in the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra also founded by Abbado. He was also engaged in a master class by Isaac Stern . In 2000 , he was awarded the Victoire de la Music Award in the Opening of the Year nomination (in 2005 he received the same award in the Adult Instrumentalist of the Year nomination). In 2004 , he toured China with the Paris Orchestra under the direction of Christoph Eschenbach .

Among the recordings of Kapuson are concerts by Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn , chamber music by Franz Schubert , Johannes Brahms , Maurice Ravel and others.
