Thibode, Jean Yves

Jean-Yves Thibaudet ( fr. Jean-Yves Thibaudet ; born September 7, 1961 , Lyon ) is a French pianist.

He graduated from the Paris Conservatoire at Lucette Deca and Aldo Ciccolini . In 1979 he was awarded the second prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition .

According to the Russian reviewer, Thibode

became famous as one of the best interpreters of various languid, sentimental music. Few people are better than him in the world playing Sati music ... He is called Ravel's heir ... ^[12]

Among other composers that Thibodet willingly performs and records are Frederic Chopin , Robert Schumann , Camille Saint-Saens , Vincent d'Andy , Claude Debussy , Olivier Messiaen . In total, he has recorded over 30 CDs for the British record label Decca Records . In addition, Tibodet works a lot for the cinema: he plays music in such films as " Portrait of a Lady " ( 1996 ), " Pride and Prejudice " ( 2005 ), " Atonement " ( 2007 ).

Among the musicians with which Thibodet performed in the ensemble are singer Rene Fleming and Cecilia Bartoli , violinist Joshua Bell , violist Yuri Bashmet , cellist Truls Merck and others.

In 2007 , Thibodet was awarded the Victoire de la Musique Prize in the honorary nomination Victoire d'honneur (For Services to Music).
