History
In 1924 [1] Royce Kershaw began inventing machines for use in the construction of railways . The machine he invented for adding and adjusting ballast significantly reduced the cost and accelerated the progress of construction while improving quality. The second machine, called the Cribbing Machine , removed ballast from the turnouts. The invention of these machines allowed the company to obtain profitable contracts for the construction of railways due to the tremendous cost of construction. In 1946, the company reoriented its business from the construction of railways to the development, production and sale of track machines.
In August 1983, the company was renamed Knox Kershaw Inc.
