General information
Pharmacological action: has an anesthetic, analgesic and pronounced muscle relaxant effect.
Indications for use: used for general anesthesia for short-term surgical interventions, in obstetrics - for cesarean section.
Dosage and administration: in a mixture with oxygen or in combination with nitrous oxide and oxygen using a specially calibrated anesthetic vaporizer (for induction of anesthesia - 0.5 vol.%, In the inhaled mixture - gradually increasing to 4.5 vol.%, For maintaining the surgical stage - concentration of 0.5-2.5 vol.%).
Side effect: nausea, vomiting, hypotension are possible.
Contraindications: hypotension, cardiac arrhythmias.
Release form: in bottles of 125 and 250 ml.
Application
Enfluran is used in obstetric practice (during childbirth), with interventions that do not require a shutdown of consciousness, as well as with cesarean section.
Enflurane is used (mixed with oxygen) using an anesthesia machine with a special vaporizer.
In obstetrics (at birth), they are used in a concentration of 0.25 −1 vol.%. For induction of anesthesia, they begin with a concentration of 0.5 vol.%, Gradually increasing it every few breaths to the required level, but not exceeding 4.5 vol.%. Maintenance concentrations of enfluran 0.5 - 3 vol.%. (No more than 3%). The minimum alveolar concentration is 1.68 vol.%.
