In 1384, a noble stranger Voeiko, Voytyagov, son, ruler of Ternovsky, went from Prussia to Moscow to Grand Duke Dmitry Ivanovich Donskoy and 150 people came with him. He adopted the holy Christian faith with the name Procopius. The rite was performed in the Miracle Monastery by Metropolitan Cyprian and the holy miracle worker Sergius of Radonezh . The Grand Duke granted him the city of Dmitrov, and under the Grand Duke Vasily Dmitrievich he was a boyar [1] .

Origin and History

In 1573, the guardsmen of Ivan the Terrible were: Matvey, Fyodor, Baim and Ivan Vasilievich, Ivan and Bogdan Borisovichi, Pyotr and Tenth Ten Mamyshevs, Fedor Bulgakov, Danila, Zvyaga Timofeevich, Ignatius, Dmitry and Afanasy Zvyaginov, Ivanov, Semyon Andreiovich, Tretyakov, Ivanov, Oleg Tretyakov, Ivanov Tretyakov, Oleg Athanasius and Senka Ivanov and Uchish Zlobin Voyeykov [2] .

His ancestor , Voyeiko Voytyagovich , left, according to a pedigree tale, not worthy of attention, from Prussia to Dimitri Donskoy . His seventh generation descendant, Grigory Prokofievich , had 4 sons, from whom four of the now existing branches of the Voeikov clan descend.

Of the members of the first branch, several people were governors in the XVII century .; the writer Aleksandr Fedorovich and Aleksandr Ivanovich Voyeykov, gen. Aleksei Vasilievich and Nikolai Vasilievich Voeikov (1832–1898), adjutant general, assistant commander of the Imperial headquarters. It is included in the VI part of the genealogy book of Vladimir, Kaluga [3] , Kursk, Moscow, Oryol, Ryazan, Petersburg, Tambov and Tula lips.

From the second branch came Vasily Semenovich , the siege governor in Novosil ( 1563 ), who had sons:

  1. Ivan , nicknamed Guba, a member of the Livonian campaigns, the governor in Velikiye Luki;
  2. Ivan Menshiy ;
  3. Efim , nicknamed Baim, former governor of Tula ( 1684 ) and ambassador to Poland . His son was the voivode Dimitry Efimovich Voeykov;
  4. Matvey , governor in Toropets and Sebezh; Of his sons, Andrei is a well-known governor, and Sergius , a monk of Serapion , distinguished himself in defending the Sergius Monastery from the Poles.
  5. Grigory Vasilyevich , the former governor in Tetyushi ( 1600 ).

Prokhor-Bogdan Borisovich was ambassador to Poland ( 1583 ) and governor in Vologda . Many other members of this branch were governors in the 17th century ; Sila Romanovich belongs to her [4] . It is included in the VI and II parts of the genealogy book of the Vladimir, Vologda and Kaluga provinces.

The third branch includes Ivan Evstratievich , a participant in the Moscow siege seat ( 1608 ), and Ilya Ivanovich , who was killed in 1634 near Smolensk. This branch is included in the VI and II parts of the genealogy of the Kursk, Moscow, Smolensk, Tver and Chernihiv provinces.

From the fourth branch there are: Alexei Ivanovich , the voivode in Putivl ( 1602 ); Artemy Ignatievich , participant in the Moscow siege seat ( 1608 ); a few more governors of the XVII century and Ivan Grigorievich , among the monks of Yuvenaly ( 1729 - 1805 ), hegumen of the Vologda Corniglia Monastery, author of several genealogical studies. This branch is included in the VI, II and III parts of the genealogy book of Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Tver and Yaroslavl provinces.

In addition to the ancient family of Voeikovs, there are four more clans of this name, which received the nobility by rank and entered in the second and third parts of the genealogy of the Kaluga, Oryol, Simbirsk and Smolensk provinces.

When submitting documents on March 17, 1686, for the introduction of the genus in the Velvet Book , the genealogical painting of the Voeikovs was provided [5] .
