Braunschweig type corvettes (K130) - were developed in the 2000s by German shipbuilding companies: Blohm + Voss and ThyssenKrupp . The decision to develop and build the K130 project corvettes was made in 2000 . The lead ship of the F260 Braunschweig series was launched in 2006 and commissioned on April 16, 2008 . [1] In 2007, the second corvette of the series - F261 Magdeburg was launched, in 2007 - three ships were launched at once: F262 Erfurt, F263 Oldenburg, F264 Ludwigshafen. Five more ships are planned to be included in the German Navy from 2010 to 2015.

The following projects were taken as a prototype: F123 Brandenburg and F124 Saxony . Like the F124 Saxony project, the ship is equipped with Stealth technology. On the ship can be placed two unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs ) or one helicopter NH90 .
