Story
Ordzhonikidze , 1988. Attackers hijack passenger bus from the city bus station. Their leader, Pavel, on the way “to work” takes his wife Tamara with him, who at the moment has no idea where they are going. They drive up to the city printing house, where a group of children with a teacher are on the excursion. The guys who left the printing house are invited to the bus - “to deliver to the school”.
In the meantime, the police report on the service line about the hijacking of the bus (no one suspects about the capture of children yet). The hijacked bus was noticed by local KGB officers who heard a message from the police department on the radio station of their official car . State Security Colonel Orlov decides to "help the sister organization."
The bus goes to the square in front of the local executive committee. The criminals notice the next “Volga” and shoot at her, the driver is wounded by shards of glass.
The bus is in the middle of the square. The area was quickly cordoned off by police officers, a division of the internal troops ; Fire trucks and ambulances arrived. At the request of the terrorists, they receive a walkie-talkie for conversation with the “representative of the authorities” - Colonel Orlov. At the same time, they write an ultimatum, with which Tamara gets off the bus, having no desire to participate in a terrorist act. Tamara and informs Orlov about the number of terrorists, the captured children and the fact that the bus contains weapons, gas canisters and explosives. If the bus is fired upon an attack, it will explode.
The terrorists put forward demands: two million dollars, one million rubles in gold and a plane to the state without diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union and to enter the plane on this bus. Tamaru is put in a traffic police car . In the meantime, local authorities are coordinating with higher authorities up to Moscow . Consent obtained; but the plane, which can pick up such a bus, will take off from the nearest airfield - Mineralnye Vody , where you have to travel almost 6 hours in a column of traffic police cars (in one of them - Colonel Orlov and Tamara), internal troops, firefighters and ambulance units . Behind the column rush cars with numerous parents and relatives of the hostages. They overcome a police checkpoint, pushing the police car into the abyss, but the military take over, blocking the way to the terminal for the parents.
On the way, the criminals decide to take an accomplice in prison with them and release in return one of the juvenile "hostages"; however, a prisoner who remains several months before his release refuses to travel with the terrorists.
On the way, the criminals decide to fly to Pakistan , which supports the Afghan Mujahideen and does not issue prisoners of war. They do not know that Pakistan has an agreement with the USSR on the extradition of criminals. Still, they abandon Pakistan (“they will spin the dynamo, they will be put in Kabul and will be shot as ghosts”) and decide to fly to Israel , with which the USSR has a tense relationship.
A convoy with a bus enters the airfield of Mineralnye Vody Airport. They were given a heavy IL-76 transport aircraft, whose crew agreed to take the bus with the terrorists.
The bus is driven into the cargo compartment of the IL-76TD, Kalashnikov assault rifles, bulletproof vests, handcuffs, bags of money, which are required by the bandits, are delivered. The children are exchanged for the crew — now the pilots, handcuffed to the wheels in the cockpit, and Colonel Orlov are their hostages. At the same time, the teacher does not have time to go out with her class - when the children leave the plane, she is detained by “Sedoy”, one of the most terrible terrorists in the group (which in reality was not) and tries to rape. He does not succeed in this: Colonel Orlov intervened, beaten for this by the overwhelming majority of criminals and hanging by hand in handcuffs on a winch.
The plane flies to Israel. The terrorists decide to celebrate this event by inviting Tamara and the teacher (who did not manage to escape during the Orlov fight with the gangsters), drink and dance. One of the criminals with a gun is in the cabin near the crew. Meanwhile, two drunken terrorists are pulling a young teacher on a bus to rape, she is trying to fight back. Tamara comes to the rescue, who frees Colonel Orlov, and he does not allow the bandits to rape. A hand-to-hand fight with drunks is more successful ...
The plane lands at Tel Aviv airport . There is a cordon in front of the plane, journalists. A translator conducts criminals to the car, where they express a desire to "go to the best hotel in Tel Aviv , always with five stars, a fountain and a garden."
Instead, the criminals were taken to Abu Kabir prison. Local authorities decide to transfer terrorists to the USSR. At the request of diplomats, a Tu-134 arrives with special services officers.
The whole company is again in the same IL-76, near the bus, but already under escort. The plane flies back to the USSR and lands in Moscow.

It was planned that the shooting of some scenes will take place in Israel, but instead the director had to replace Tel Aviv with Moscow . The Israeli Foreign Ministry was filmed at the hotel "Russia" , the airport Ben-Gurion - at Sheremetyevo [1] .
Criticism
The real prototype of Pavel Melkoyants, the hero of Igor Bochkin - Pavel Yakshiyants, already in the prison of Chrysostom , watched a movie (but only half) and he did not like it. In 1998, giving an interview to the Chelyabinsk worker correspondent Olga Ayzenberg, Yakshiyants said: “ We were portrayed as monsters, although our“ armed gang ”was actually a bus brigade of a motor company in the city of Ordzhonikidze ” [2] .
