Name Origin
In 1965, part of the former Khoroshevskoye Highway was named Mnevniki Street by its location on the site where the village of Mnevniki (sometimes Menevniki) was once located, which has been mentioned since the 17th century. The location at the bend of the Moskva River suggests a connection between the name of the former village and the Russian dialect word "less" - burbot , possibly through a non-calendar personal name. Less likely is the assumption that the specialization of local fishermen in fishing is less, since in the Moscow region more common names are common for occupations: Catchers, Rybolovo, Fishermen, and not for species of fish. In the late 1940s, the village of Mnevniki entered the line of Moscow.
Location
Mnevniki Street starts from Marshal Babadzhanyan Square, where Khoroshevskoye Shosse, Marshal Zhukov Avenue and 3rd Khoroshevskaya Avenue also converge, passes to the south-west, the 2nd Silikatny Pass leaves to its left, then it connects to Zvenigorodskoye Highway , turns west, becomes a continuation of the highway and actually part of a large highway ( Krasnopresnensky Prospekt , the name has not yet been established). Mnevniki Street crosses Demyan Bednogo Street and approaches the intersection of Narodnaya Militia Street and Marshal Zhukov Avenue, after which the designed highway passes over the avenue, and Mnevniki Street continues a little to the south and parallel to Marshal Zhukov Avenue (it was previously separated from the avenue by a green recreational square), Salam Adil ends at the nameless passage, which connects it to the right with Karamyshevsky passage and Karamyshevskaya embankment , and on the left it faces the same Marshal Zhukov Avenue opposite Streets of General Glagolev .
