Zakawie ( Polish: Zakawie ) is a village in Poland , part of the Strzemeszice Male region of the town of Dбbrowa Górnicza in the Silesian Voivodeship . As part of the city since 1975. It is located at a distance of 11.7 km from the center. Zakavye is a historical village, since today it is not allocated in the structure of the city of Dбbrowa Górnicza as its separate administrative unit. Still, Zakavye occupies a continuous building belt stretching along the street under the same name. The village appeared in the XIX century. in connection with the development of zinc mines in Slavkuv (mine "Leonidas") and the neighboring village of Kava (mine "Kavya Gora"). In the XIX century. near the road connecting both mines a chapel of St. Anthony . According to the Geographical Dictionary of the Kingdom of Poland in 1895, the village consisted of 23 houses and 257 inhabitants [1] . In it until today, several wooden residential buildings have been preserved, which are an exemplary example of the pre-war village development of the Dombrowski coal basin [2] .
