Pop-port

Pop-Port connector from the original Nokia HS-5 headset.

Pop-Port - interface for Nokia mobile phones. It is used to connect a stereo headset , connect a phone to a computer using a USB DATA cable and Nokia PC Suite , and connect a printer (for some models). At the moment, the company refused to use this interface, completely switching to mini / micro-USB.

Pop-Port combines several functions in one convenient interface. For example, you can conveniently control a digital camera, music player and stereo headphones, all through the phone’s built-in menu. In addition, this interface is recognized to standardize the interface of Nokia phones, which will allow more “intelligent” control of external devices.

Pop-port supports the following functions:

  • high-speed connection similar to USB in parameters using a special Pop-Port cable;
  • stereo sound for embedded audio devices such as a player or receiver;
  • external devices are powered through the Pop-Port, so there is no need for a separate power source;
  • automatic detection of the connected device and control of its parameters through the phone menu.
