History
In the army from 30/04/1942 to 08/01/1945 [1] .
Upon admission to the army he took up defensive positions on the Svir River . In the fall of 1942, it was redeployed to the Kalininsky Front , in November-December 1942, it was located in the Velsky District of the Smolensk, now Tver Region . He took part in the Rzhev-Sychevskaya operation, during which the regimental units were surrounded, left without military equipment. Upon leaving the encirclement, the regiment was replenished and equipped with 152-mm howitzers of the 1938 model .
In May 1943 he was attached to the 47th Infantry Division , was in defensive positions southeast of Nevel .
Then, at the end of 1943 , he took part in the Nevelsk and Gorodok operations.
In 1944, he took part in the Vitebsk-Orsha and Polotsk operations, distinguished himself during the liberation of Vitebsk , and continued the offensive during the Šiauliai operation.
In the autumn of 1944 she takes part in the Riga and Memel operations.
On January 5, 1945, the regiment was dismissed from the 1st Baltic Front and sent by train to the city of Zhytomyr , to the Zhytomyr training artillery camp, where it arrived on January 14, 1945. On January 15, 1945, the regiment was transformed into the 79th Guards Howitzer Artillery Regiment .
