Evgeny Petrovich Klevtsov ( March 28, 1929 , Oboyan , Central Black Earth Region - March 24, 2003 ) - Soviet cyclist , bronze medalist at the 1960 Summer Olympics , ( Rome ) in the team race 100 km on the highway. Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1959).

Biography

Multiple champion of the USSR (1950, 1952,?, 1959) in the team race for 100 km and other cycling disciplines. The winner of the World Cycle Race (1956, 1958) as a member of the USSR team that won the team competition, the winner of stage 12 ( Prague ) of World Cycle Race 1956, and stage 8 part b ( Karl-Marx-Stadt ) World Cycle Race 1958 individually. Winner of the Games of the peoples of the USSR 1959 . Yevgeny Klevtsov is the first Kursk Olympic medalist, and the first Kurian is the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1959).

Until 1948 he lived in Oboyan , Kursk region , worked as a mechanic in the MTS. For the first time he took part in cycling competitions in 1948 in Kursk , at the age of 18, and won first place with a large margin. In the same year, he became the best rural racer of Russia at the All-Russian Rural Games in Pyatigorsk , after which he was invited to Moscow, to the club of CDKA .
