Biography
Born December 28, 1921 in the village of Ivanovo, now Nevelsky District, Pskov Region . He came from an old noble family of Pokramoviches.
Later his family moved to Leningrad . In 1940, he was drafted into the army and sent to an infantry school.
After graduating from college, he was sent to serve in the Arctic . There he was promoted to platoon commander.
Distinguished during the battles for Kirkenes . Under his command several successful combat and reconnaissance operations were conducted.
On October 24, 1944, Pokramovich, with a group of intelligence officers, acting in front of the Soviet troops, knocked out the enemy from settlements Svartakel, Tyuvedalin, Estmo, went to the east coast of the Bechfjord Bay and forced it on the available floating craft. On October 26, twenty scouts under the command of Pokramovich captured and sank the fascist minesweeper, capturing its crew.
By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 2, 1944, for exemplary performance of the combat missions of the command and the courage and heroism shown at the same time, Senior Lieutenant Dmitry Pokramovich Dmitry Semenovich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin.
Dmitry Semenovich died in battle on March 14, 1945. It was originally buried in the central square of the city of Wejherowo . Later reburied at the memorial cemetery of Soviet soldiers in Gdansk .
