Parve, Kaya Akhtovna

Kaya Akhtovna Parve ( Est. Kaija Parve ; June 14, 1964 , Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) - Soviet biathlete of Estonian origin. Seven-time world champion: in the relay race (1985-1988), in the 5 km and 10 km race (1985 and 1986). Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1985).

Kaya Parve is the only Soviet athlete to be in the top three in the overall standings for the first 6 biathlon World Cup competitions . 20-year-old Parve was third in the 1984/85 season. In the first draws of the Cup, Norwegians and Swedish Eva Korpela dominated .

The best athlete in Estonia in 1985 and 1986.

In 1990, she married and took the surname Helinurm ( Est. Helinurm ).
