History

In the late 1920s, the United States began the artistic design of a car. One of the first tasks of artists of designers was to reduce the level of the floor, and therefore the overall height of the car.

The first Americans began to systematically and purposefully engage in the artistic design of a car. In 1926, General Motors created an art design group, and the next year, in 1927, La Salle was released, designed by design artists. Her success, as contemporaries noted, gave the design profession an excellent advertisement.

In 1964-1965 1,400 designers worked in the art design department of the General Motors technical center, and 875 worked in the Ford concern.

In the industrialized countries of Europe and Japan, artistic design became widespread in the postwar years as a means of preserving old and conquering new markets.

Theory

Cars of different brands, produced at the same time, often have similar exterior design features.

The task of artistic design is to create a rational product that best meets the operating conditions and technology requirements. The shape of the product must be functionally justified.

Appearance

The shape of the car depends on the layout and design, on the materials used and the technology for manufacturing the body . In turn, the emergence of a new design makes us look for new technological methods and new materials. The development of the shape of the car is affected by socio-economic factors and, due to the special quality of the car - its "prestige", fashion.

There is a direct sequence between the size and cost of the car: the larger the more expensive. It is always beneficial for an entrepreneur to produce an expensive car.
