Winner of the European Championship in 1981, 4-time bronze medalist of the USSR Championship (1975, 1976, 1980, 1982), silver medalist of the VIII USSR Olympics (1983). A pupil of the Dnepropetrovsk specialized children and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve No. 5. He played for Dynamo (Moscow) in 1973-1988.
