Smolensky (Yartsevo) district is an administrative-territorial unit of the Western Region of the RSFSR that existed in 1929 - 1930 .

Smolensk district was formed on October 1, 1929 . The center of the district was assigned the city of Smolensk .

On May 12, 1930, the Smolensk District was renamed the Yartsevo District , and its center was moved to the city of Yartsevo .
July 30, 1930 Yartsevo district , like most other districts of the USSR, was abolished. Its areas have become directly subordinate to the Western region .
