Content
Story
Screen version of the novel by Georges Simenon . The prosperous watchmaker from the Lyon quarter Saint-Paul, Monsieur Decombe is in trouble. Michelle learns from the police that his son Bernard killed the son of a powerful and influential man and that he himself is hiding with his girlfriend. Michelle is trying to figure out the motives for the crime, but suddenly realizes how little he knows about his own son.
Interesting Facts
- The action of the novel by George Simenon "Watchmaker from Everton", on which the film was shot, takes place in the United States. However, due to a modest budget, the picture had to be shot in Lyon . The second largest city in France, the beautiful corners of which can be seen on the screen, has made a significant contribution to the financing of the film.
- Initially, Francois Perrier was supposed to play the role of commissar, but he terminated the contract two weeks before the start of filming. We turned to Jean Rochefort, who readily agreed. So there was an acting tandem Philippe Noiret - Jean Rochefort .
