Woody Island ( Chinese р 岛 , pinyin : Yǒngxīng dǎo , pall : Yongxing Dao - Yongxing Island; Vietnamese Đảo Phú Lâm - Fulam Island; Woody Island ) - one of the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea . Over the island in 1974, control was established by the People's Republic of China . Claims for ownership of the island are presented by the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Vietnam .

The island is inhabited; administratively part of the Sansha urban district [1] . The island has a Chinese military garrison [2] , a rescue center and an airport (military airfield [3] ) with a runway length of 2350 meters (the airfield was built in 1990) [4] .
Yongxing built new treatment facilities and a garbage processing plant, followed by a new desalination plant on the island, a center for monitoring sea turtles appears [5] .
