A higher technical educational institution has existed in Dresden under various names for more than two hundred years, and its modern name Dresden Technical University received in 1961. This is one of the oldest technical universities in Germany. Dresden Technical University is part of the union of the largest technical universities in Germany “ TU 9 ”.
